Product details
Californian sunflowers: an original and decorative addition to the garden
The Californian sunflower, with its stems reaching a height of around 2.50 m, is an impressive sight in the garden. It produces bouquets of several yellow flowers with dark yellow centers, measuring around 20 cm in diameter. Its unique appearance makes it a remarkable decorative element.
Sowing and growing Californian sunflowers
Sow from mid-April to mid-May in the open ground, spacing the seeds 40-60 cm apart along the row, in a sunny spot. After emergence or planting, regular weeding and watering during dry spells are essential to promote vigorous plant growth.
Harvesting the seeds
Californian sunflowers generally finish flowering in September, leaving many seeds inside the flower. This is when they are ready to be harvested for later use or to share with other gardeners.
