The RC-48 grade of carbon with which the PHRESH FILTER is equipped comes from an ancient black coal deposit found exclusively in Western Australia. The deposit dates back almost 250 million years. After being extracted, the RC-48 carbon is activated in a 1200°C furnace, in an atmosphere saturated with fumes. This activation process makes RC-48 carbon incredibly effective at filtering organic particles and other materials from the air.

Thus, PHRESH FILTER contains the purest, most pristine carbon. Because of its fine granular form, as opposed to the competition's use of activated carbon pellets, this RC-48 carbon covers a larger surface area, which makes these filters half the weight of their competitors.
