Growing instructions :
Soil care:
Prepare a well-drained and aerated plot.
Use a grelinette or aerofork to aerate the soil and remove stones and weeds.
Improve the soil with green manures, manure, compost and regular mulching.
Exposure:
Dill prefers a sunny position, sheltered from the wind.
Sowing:
Sow the seeds at a depth equal to their size, in a pot or in the ground.
Keep a distance of 20 cm between plants.
Keep the soil moist until the first leaves appear, watering gently.
Emergence and growth :
Seeds germinate in 8 to 11 days at a temperature of 18°C.
Growth takes around 15 to 20 days.
Combined cultivation :
Dill goes well with most vegetables, especially cucumbers and carrots.
Improves the taste and health of root vegetables.
Repels moths and caterpillars when planted near cabbages.
Attracts pollinating insects with its melliferous flowers.
Watering :
Water 1 to 2 times a week.
Harvesting:
Harvest herbs from 60 days, preferably in the morning after dew for maximum flavor.
Seeds or umbels can be harvested after 5 months.
Storage :
Eat quickly or freeze fresh leaves.
Dry seeds in the shade and store in an airtight box.
