Russian tarragon: growing guide and culinary uses
Discover Russian tarragon, a cold-hardy perennial variety cultivated for its leaves for condiment and aromatic uses. Learn how to successfully grow Russian tarragon, which is more productive and robust than its French cousin.
Harvest as needed, around 12 months after sowing. Before winter, prune stems close to the ground and mulch for better protection. In spring, uncover to encourage growth. Pinch the flowering stems to stimulate the production of tender, tasty young shoots.
Can also be grown in pots. Sowing recommended from September to April in humus-rich, cool, well-drained soil in a sunny position. Enjoy Russian tarragon to flavor your dishes, fresh or dried.
