It requires heat and water.
The Golden Bantam variety Zea mays convar. saccarata L. is characterized by a height of 1,5-2 m with golden yellow ears (20 cm) of excellent gustatory quality.
Very rich in proteins.
Soil preparation: choose a rich, fresh and permeable soil.
Very sunny exposure.
Sowing: to sow, with 2 cm of depth as of May, in pips of 3 seeds distant of 35 cm.
Emergence: in 14 days in soil at 17°C
Harvest: mid-August (when the grains are tender) to early October (the silks are dry, so the grain is dry).
