Cultivated arugula seeds - La Semence Bio

Cultivated arugula, also known by the scientific name Eruca vesicaria sp. sativa L., is an improved variant of wild arugula. It is distinguished by its lanceolate, jagged, dark-green leaves, arranged in a characteristic rosette. Reaching heights of 20 to 30 cm, this variety offers a unique taste experience, being at once spicy, peppery and pungent.

To ensure optimal growth, cultivated Roquette requires regular watering. For tender leaves, rich, moist soil is recommended.

Seeds can be sown to a depth of 0.3 cm from February (under cover), March (in the open ground when the soil reaches 10°C) to October (directly in situ). Sowing is done in rows spaced 30 cm apart, with thinning to 8 cm on the row. Recommended planting density is 8 x 30 cm.

Seed emergence takes 10 to 15 days in soil maintained at 10°C. Harvesting of cultivated arugula can begin between 30 and 45 days after sowing, offering a harvest period from mid-April to October.
