Blue Cream Berries tomato - Precose cherry variety

The Blue Cream Berries tomato is an indeterminate variety, producing numerous small indigo and yellow cherry tomatoes. Its sweet, delicate flavor evolves a day or two after harvest, offering a unique taste experience.

Description of Blue Cream Berries

This early variety produces clusters of 4 to 6 fruits. The round, golden-yellow tomatoes, veiled in purple, weigh between 7 and 12 grams and measure around 2.5 cm in diameter. The creamy flesh of these fruits is really sweet. Seeded plants bear around 8 bunches, reaching a height of around 1.6 meters. Immature fruits are green with a purple veil.

Sowing and planting Blue Cream Berries tomatoes

Sowing period: February to April
Sowing method: Sow in warm soil (20°C) or in pots indoors or in a heated greenhouse, in fine sowing compost. Bury seeds 1 cm deep, then cover with potting soil. Water with a sprayer to keep the potting soil moist but not soggy. Place the terrine near a window to prevent the seedlings from drifting towards the light.
Transplanting: When frosts are no longer a threat and the seedlings are 12 to 15 cm tall, transplant into rich, loose, healthy soil. Space plants 70 cm apart between rows and 50 cm apart in rows, in a sunny position. Stake before planting and water thoroughly at the base once a week.

Tomato pruning

Pruning by draining can increase fruit size and earliness, but is not compulsory. If you choose to prune, use maerl or green clay to help the plants heal. Alternatively, you can leave the plants to develop fully, requiring more space (1 m between each plant) and producing smaller but more numerous fruit. Another method is to lead the plants on two strands, removing the suckers after pinching the plant 20 cm from the ground.

Harvesting and care

Harvesting: 4 to 5 months after sowing, when the tomatoes are fully ripe. Pick as needed or dry in the sun or oven.
Common problems: To prevent mildew, protect your plants in rainy regions and use a Bordeaux mixture-based treatment. To prevent apical necrosis (black ass), ensure adequate calcium intake and water regularly.
